Sleeper Beds / Retainers, Sheffield

Sleepers are very versatile and are the ideal building block for creating raised planting beds and vegetable patches of various shapes and sizes — a less complicated and therefore cheaper alternative to brick or stone.

They are also ideal for creating retaining walls, and again when used for this purpose are a much cheaper alternative to a traditional wall. The photos below demonstrate their uses as both planters and as earth retainers.
